The reason I love the world of Telon so much is because there are always unexpected and wonderful adventures to be had. After my sorceress Alora had discovered some small parts of life in Qalia my brave woodelf Soeni decided to make a name for herself in Thestra. Her early explorations followed some of the more populous areas of Tursh, Three Rivers, Leth Nurae, Bordinars Cleft and Veskals Exchange. And while traveling along these cities she learned her skills as ranger and leatherworker from the local artisans.
But over the weekend I decided to widen my horizons even further and ventured into the vampire and undead ruled lands in the North. One day I'll hope to enter the Hilsbury Manor and find the master, but before I can attempt that I'll have to harden up a bit more. So in stead I ended up in Charbrook.
I think at one point it might have been a cheerful town on the northern cliffs of Thestra protected by the Charbrook Garrison on the hill behind. But those times have long gone. Princess Charlotte, the daughter of the Lord of Charbrook has turned into a vampire, and apparently quite a powerful one at that. Although I have slayed her twice already her control over the area, her parents, and the garrison remains. Every hour she is sending three of of her soldiers down into the village to kill randomly anybody in sight. Especially the vendors, brokers and crafting taskmasters have very short life expectancy.
But since I had several quests in the area to take care off, I decided to stay for a few days and work on my crafting skills. The crafting instructor was happily giving me a free room and food if I stayed around to keep her alive. Thus I put on my crafting gear and started doing some work for the frightened taskmasters. While working at the outfitter table I can't really step away, so I kept a close look at the garrison to see if the murdering soldiers didn't come done yet before starting. The first night I had forgotten to do that, and they had beaten up my taskmaster so bad that I was unable to hand in completed workorders, forcing me to stop crafting prematurely.
So I had learned my lesson. While keeping an eye on the garrison I was crafting away. But since the garrison has a slightly new agenda the surrounding wild life is uncontrolled and apparently they can wander into the town at their leisure looking for food. And what could be more tasty for a 7 ft high spider than an unexpected crafter? Before I realized what was happening my work table got smudged by my own blood. Fortunately I am not that quickly taken down, and managed to dispose of the spider. But a few minutes later a hungry wolf had the same idea, and then a bear, and so it went on.
Although it was quite a thrill ride, and I made a friend for life with the crafting instructor, I decided that one weekend was more than enough. But if any of you feel like having a break from the ordinary, go visit Charbrook village on the northshore of Thestra. And if you tell the crafting instructor that Soeni told you about her village I am sure she will be thrilled to death.

I think they should implement this everywhere for a week or so :-)
Just to give those people who keep whining about the bot-prevention walk about taskmasters that a living, breathing, walking Taskmaster isn't that big a deal :-)
