Ok, maybe everybody knows this already, but I just "discovered" it on my own and am still bubbling with pride, joy and other emotions we'll not mention about it, so please humor me :-)
So, you have a bow and arrow thing, now how are you going to keep track of how many arrows you have left? Periodically check your inventory? Open up the quiver every time you do so? Or...
You can drag the ammo icon(s) from the quiver to a HotKey Bar.
Personally I use the 'Right side Bar' which I have on the left side of the screen for this. The Ammo Macro Icon will update to display the correct amount each time you fire an arrow. If you have multiple types of shot, you can use multiple Icons to rapidly switch between ammo types.
Hope this helps someone :-)

Hmm, I bet this works for thrown items too. I'll have to give it a go.

Hmm, I should read you posts better. Than I wouldn't have had to post my other rambling.
Yesterday I went into one of the Ulvari temples with apparently short stack of arrows. And found out I use them more than I thought. Although they don't really do the bulk of the damage, they really make cleaning out an area quite a joy. Of course my supremecy ruled regardless, but knowledge is still power. I should excel in whatever I do.
And soon I will be overflowing with knowledge since I am destined to become the next warden of the day, and I will learn everything the wood elves have ever known. I just have to pass the tests tonight.
