I haven't got the terms down for diplomacy (I've hardly done any of it) but I need some help deciding which cards to choose. How do you decide which ones to use for a session? If the quest shows red, green, and yellow "dots" should I be avoiding selecting cards that have anything blue? Is there anything else I should be paying attention to? This newbie dip needs some suggestions from our diplomatic guru's please. :-)

I should really take a screenie and explain it in a handy matter there since there a couple items that are very important. But these are the basics:
- The number on the top corner of the card is deciding in which direction the parley is going. A positive number is good (if you play it). For every turn the balance of the parley (on the on the right end side of the table) is in your favour it reduces a point for you, and if it is in favour of your opponent, he/she loses a point. Who gets to zero first wins. It doesn't matter how far it swings in either direction, 1 point or 6 points, it still only reduces your total number by one per turn. So the trick is to get it to swing in your favour and then giving your opponent as little as possible bubbles. That way he/she has no useful cards to play, and the balance stays in your favor.
- On the cards itself the top row under the picture show how many points in that color it will cost you to play that card. So if blue is crossed out cards that require blue points are useless.
- The row of numbers below that show how many points of each color you give your opponent when you play it. Here it is very nice you give the opponent blue, since they are useless.
- The numbers on the bottom are point you will get when you play that card. Usually to give yourself points you won't make any actual parley points. You use those card to set yourself up for a next card. Of course here blue points are useless, so avoid those (if blue if crossed out).
- My strategy is to avoid giving away points at all cost. As long as the parley is in your favour just listen. I have won many parleys by just playing only one or two cards.
* I'll make a more fancy description when I get a screenie.
