I have been playing around with the Classes and Races pages. And I am not really sure if it is user friendly enough, or what the best way of doing it is. Could you have a look and give me some feedback? Especially have a look at the difference between the Dark Elf and Dwarf.
Thanks!

On the classes page at the top, I think it would look better without the class icons next to the names where you list all the classes.
And on the races page, I think the way the Dwarf is set up looks a bit more useable. Having just the icons doesn't really let me know what is what, and if you listed the class icons and the names, I think you'd end up with something similar the the classes page.

Those classes aren't in the game. Sigil says they may add them later on.

Thanks for the input!
Unfortunately I had to remove the Inquisitor and Beserker. When they return I'll put them back in.
I agree that text is probably easier to nagivate, but I just love the icons :)
I'll listen to you. And make it just dry text.

Here's another idea, what if you removed the Vanguard pic, so they all aligned to the left, and took of the dots too. Maybe align the text to the center of the icons and leave the icons in? Maybe that would help it look better and still use the icons? This all on the classes page of course.
Or maybe if the icons were a bit smaller?
The first 2 are at 50% size and the last is 75% size.

smaller is a great idea! I tried to lift the text a bit, but I failed miserably. Still, even at 50% the text still looks a bit weird glued onto it. I tried added a bunch of spaces, but they seems to be ignored. Is there a < tab > tag? I couldn't find it.
And do know perhaps know a neat trick to center the text on the image?

Hmm, I'm not too fluent with html, but you could try putting it in a table. Here's what I used to make it look the way it did in my last post:
Of course, take out all the tags from that. I can't seem to find a decent way of displaying code without it all being on one line. The code tags don't seem to do their job.
Anyway, the property in the td tag, valign=center, is what centers the text in a table cell.

I tried a lot of icon options but it never looked really good. So bullets and text it is. But thanks for the lessons in html, BP!

Thanks for the continued effort regardless of the results. :) Last few days due to weather conditions my internet connection has been up and down quite bit and have really missed popping in here as much due to my current workload; I mean did n't the Vanguard folks take into account this is my busy time of the year. :P (Tounge firmly in cheek) Oh well if they released in April the IRS would surely notice a huge # of overdue tax returns. hee hee
Good seeing all the activity here after being a little quite round the end of 2006.

I am glad you survived through the rough weather. A lot of people got quite displaced. But good to see you back. And I am sure the IRS understands when you explain you had to raid the cavern of terror.
On a side not on my race/class pages. I am planning to make them sort of dynamically growing. I will add the basic info from the game the next few days, but as you great members are adding screenis I will link them to relevent classes and races if that makes sense.
As a start I did that with BP's Kurashasa screenies here.

Nice site. I've made this my home page and hopefully I can make some friends here and join a guild.
I've played WoW for about 8 months and have been playing RPGs since the 70s. I actually started playing D&D with the original small D&D kit.
I haven't played Vanguard yet, I'm downloading the client today as I pre-ordered it. I didn't get a chance to play the beta due to a family emergency.
It really looks good and the lore I've read sounds really good.
I hope no one minds my occassional 'noob' question.
Thanks!

Great to have you Ersuon here in the Vanguard section and wow nice to see another like minded player it would seem. :) I have only been on GameAmp a few months but found it to be a great haven for "veteran" gamers. :)

Hi Eruson, Thanks for the compliment and a warm welcome to our site and forums. And we LOVE nood questions. Not only to help you out, but also for all the lurkers out there who are dieing to know the answers too. Of course none of us are experts yet, but collective we have probably over a 1000 years of MMORPG experience so we should know something...
As for a guild, we have a handy-dandy guild list, with contacts and descriptions. I would start looking at the guilds that have already server selected, and those that have more than one GameAmp member.
