Well after 4 months of painful hospital procedures, I'm finally free of all kidney stones. That's right...I said 4 months. These things where huge (one the size of a dime, the other was a fifty cent peace) and harder then most others. I ended up having 2 laser procedures and 4 shock wave procedures. Last week after one of the shock wave ones. I had a small fragment block something inside. The pain got so bad I began vomiting and eventually passed out from the pain. My friend (thank god) was there and rushed me back to the emergency room. But now I'm in the clear. I still have a stint in my kidney, but it's not that painful. The doctor is planing on taking that out after the holidays. So that means I can finally start going out and drinking again...and make more kidney stones.

YAY!! Glad to hear this, Cillion. Wow, I can't even imagine how painful that all must have been. But I am glad to hear you can start building up some new ones again. I'll drink one on you tonight.

I remember having to drive someone to the hospital once when they had one. He told me that if he said to stop, I better pull over immediately. Can't say that I'd wish those on anyone.

Oh man, hee hee I should have read this before sending the PM. Glad you are doing better Cillion and looks like almost all my favorite folks are lined up on this one.
I have always heard that Stones were about the most painfull thing to endure along with spinal taps and my personal favorite damaging the knee cap. So very happy you are doing better Cillion.

They say that for a male, passing a stone is the closest you will ever get to expierencing child birth. Sorry you had to go through that. I hope you are recovering well though. And remember, gaming makes all your pains better.

and thanks for embedding that Hendrix toon in my head all morning hee hee.....
Good news thought I always heard drinking beer or wine was good for flushing those stones. Oh and please tell me coffee is on the ok list for preventing stones.

The doctor told me that carbonation and alcohol was bad, but my problem was I NEVER drank water. Soda all day long and beer on weekends. Just a bottle of water a day is really all you need to stay good. And yes...coffee is fine. I Actually drank coffee everyday during this whole thing.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

10 years ago my boss and I were the only regular coffee drinkers in the office and used to put down 3 pots a day between the two of us then like complete fools we would work out every day after work and punch each other between sets and hit the gym hard for 1.5 to 2.5 hours (that was insane kids). Then I went out into the real world and took a corporate job... they just moved the coffee pot to my desk. Cursed and beloved MMORPG's ended my daily workouts and have managed to get myself down to about 6 cups a day. Sleep and water are really much better. Good health to you Cillion and Happy 2007 to the rest of you! :)
